Xuewen Chen received his B.Eng. (2003) in Chu Kochen Honors College and Ph.D. (2008) in Optics both from Zhejiang University, China. He was a Postdoctoral fellow at the Nano-Optics group in the Laboratory for Physical Chemistry, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich), Switzerland from 2008 to 2011. He then moved with Prof. Vahid Sandoghdar to the Max-Planck Institute for the Science of Light and Physics Department, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg in July 2011 and had been working towards Habilitation till June 2014. From April 2013 to July 2013, he was a visiting scholar in the group of Prof. Shanhui Fan, at Edward L. Ginzton Laboratory, Stanford University (USA). He accepted the premium the “Thousand Plan (Youth)” award from China and currently he is a full Professor at the School of Physics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). His research interests include quantum optics, nanoscience, precision spectroscopy.
