Liwei Zhou, born in September 1932, Ph.D., professor, doctoral supervisor, a specialist of electron optics and photoelectron imaging, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering. He has long been engaged in teaching and research in the fields of electron optics with wide beam focusing and photoelectron imaging. His research interests are theoretical of static and dynamic electron optics with wide beam focusing and computer-aided design . His research results won the National Scientific Conference Award (1978); the National Science & Technology Progress Award, Second Prize (1991) and Third Prize (1996); Guanghua Technology Fund, First Prize (1991), Ministry of Science and Technology Progress Award, First Prize ( 1990, 1995), second prize (1980, 1996). He has published more than 270 academic papers and cientific and technical reports, published 5 monographs, and edited 3 textbooks. The monograph "Electron Optics with Wide Beam Focusing " won the 8th China Book Prize, Nomination Award of the 2nd National Book Award and First Prize of the 7th National Excellent Science and Technology Book. At present, he serves as a member of the expert group of the National Postdoctoral Management Committee, a member of the Presidium of the National Innovation Strategy Promotion Committee, and an Honorary Chairman of the Beijing Optical Society. In 1984, he was awarded the Outstanding Mid-aged Expert. In 1991, he received special government allowances. In 1999, he was elected Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
